The establishment of the company 20 years ago brought positive change in terms of job creation in the Langeberg Municipal area. Due to the fact that Unipack specialises in the packing and exporting of citrus fruit, our peak season (when we need seasonal workers) runs from March until October. This is in contrast to the rest of our region which harvests mainly grapes and stone fruit from December to March. Therefore we fill a gap and play a significant role in providing job opportunities in the winter season when there is a great need for it.

We value a good working environment and our high level of staff retention is the result.

Currently, the job creation on all activities in the group in the winter months amounts to an approximate employment of 1000 workers. We pride ourselves in that we contribute significantly to the socio-economic wellbeing of our area through job creation.
